The  TransAtlantic Ensemble’s innovative repertoire, dynamic sound and engaging stage presence attracts and inspires audiences from the contemporary, crossover, classical, and jazz worlds.

Mariam Adam  has performed solo at Carnegie Hall, Chamber Music Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Prussia Cove Festival, 92nd St. Y, Colmar Festival, Rockport Music Festival, Chenango Music Festival, Carmel Bach Festival, La Jolla Music Festival, Skaneateles Festival, Chamber Music Northwest, La Folle Journee, Cologne Philharmonic series as well as collaborations with such artists as Paquito D'Rivera, David Shifrin, Yo-Yo Ma and Eric le Sage.  She is a regularly guest artist at numerous festivals worldwide, played concertos in Singapore, Washington DC and France. She has been featured on NPR’s Performance Today, Soundcheck, St. Paul Sunday, Tiny Desk Series  and Sirius XM radio. A founding member of Grammy-nominated IMANI WINDS and Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, she maintained a full time international touring schedule  for 18 until relocating to France to pursue new solo and collaboration projects. Her acclaimed clarinet-piano duo, TRANSATLANTIC ENSEMBLE has been performing new works since 2006 with a new album, “Havana Moon” released in 2016 under Steinway & Sons. Her Jewish-Arabic music collaboration with Stephanie Zelnick, ADZEL DUO, has been hailed as “a vital voice in contemporary Mediterranean music”. Evelyn Ulex was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. At the age of ten, she won the national "Festival of Young Talent" in Dresden, later taking top awards in the  J.S. Bach competition in Leipzig, Germany. Ulex holds degrees from Berlin's University of the Arts as well as the acclaimed Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany where she did her Concert Examen studies in the Master Class of Professor Boris Bloch.An active chamber musician who continues to explore musical genres, Ms. Ulex has collaborated on a number of special projects such as "Sight & Sound," a live concert featuring projections of paintings by Berlin artist Ade Frey. The images projected provide an emotional response to Ms. Ulex’s performance of music by Modest Mussorgky's "Pictures at an Exhibition", Schumann and Villa Lobos. Audiences in New York, Atlanta, Barcelona, Valencia and Berlin have all been enthralled by this singular multi media experience.
