Bethany Clearfield-soprano and Tony Tixier-piano

Les Dimanches Musicaux
Date: 27 October 2019 15:00

Venue: American Cathedral of Paris

Bethany Clearfield, soprano and Tony Tixierpiano,  will present a concert of pieces chosen from the Great American Songbook featuriing songs by Cole Porter. Tony will be playing on what we affectionately call our Cole Porter piano.

Whether it's choral, jazz, folk, rock, or original music with her band Outertown, angel-voiced Bethany Clearfield is sure to afford an authentic, well-crafted performance. Clearfield earned a jazz studies degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago followed by a masters in voice from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. After honing her craft abroad (and learning a wee bit about whisky), Clearfield returned to Chicago to become a fixture on the vibrant music scene. Clearfield proudly claims a decade of experience performing as a soloist and ensemble member of the Grant Park Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Music of the Baroque, and many others. She particularly loved connecting with young people through programs like Music of the Baroque's Strong Voices and the Carnegie Hall Lullaby Project. In January 2019, Clearfield relocated to Paris, France where she enjoys singing with the American Cathedral Choir and is currently working on a songwriting project inspired by life as an expat.

Tony Tixier is a Pianist, Composer, and Yamaha Artist who has performed with legends from Andrea Bocelli, Alpha Blondy, and Gregory Porter to Wallace Roney, Christian Scott, Seamus Blake, Logan Richardson, Etienne Charles, and Kendrick Scott. He opened for Herbie Hancock at the Jazz En Tete Festival in Clermont-Ferrand with his twin brother, violinist Scott Tixier.
