Duo Andranian

Sunday June 15, 2025 @ 15h00

Chantal and Gisèle Andranian trained with Pierre Barbizet, Lucette Descaves and Jean Micault for piano, and Pierre and Nelly Pasquier for chamber music. They have chosen to focus most of their activity on the piano duo (piano à quatre mains and two pianos), and have thus been able to explore, through numerous concerts, most of the repertoire written for this formation.

They have performed in numerous Paris venues: Salle Gaveau , Salle Cortot , Bibliothèque Polonaise , Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris …

In the provinces: Les Moments Musicaux de Notre-Dame, Théâtre de Vienne, Espace Rabelais de Chinon, Moulin d’Andé, Musée des Impressionnismes de Giverny… as well as numerous festivals: Ville d’Avray, festival des églises de la Suisse Normande, Moissac, Ramatuelle, les Falaises Musicales, festival des Petites Dalles, du château de Bosmelet, Cassis, La Ciotat…

On assignment for several years by the Conseil Général des Yvelines and the Conseil Général des Hauts-de-Seine.

They have been invited to appear on television programs (A2 and FR3) as well as on France-Musique and France-Culture.

Their discography gives pride of place to French music: CD “Oeuvres pour deux pianos de Henri Sauguet” , CD “Escales en rivages lointains” ( Darius Milhaud , Jacques Ibert André Jolivet Jean Françaix ). For the Polymnie label, they have recorded a CD around Johannes Brahms, an album devoted to transcriptions of works from the Impressionist period – “Horizons” -, a “Preludes” CD (Chopin, Guy Sacre, Serge Bortkiewicz), as well as a transcription for two pianos of François – André Philidor’s Art de la Modulation.

Acclaimed by a loyal audience for the vivacity and strong presence of their interpretation, Chantal and Gisèle Andranian are increasingly asserting their specificity and originality through transcriptions, an attraction to jazz and film music, and musical readings.
