“À la mémoire de Federico Garcia Lorca” – A concert-poetry experience
Federica Gatti graduated at the “G.Verdi” Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of Cinzia Barbagelata. In 2021 she obtained a Masters in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music studying violin with professor Simon Fischer, Chamber Music with professor Jacqueline Ross and Carole Presland, and classical improvisation with David Dolan. She is currently studying with Alessandro Milani at the Pinerolo Academy.
She won the first prize at the Cazzullo Competition, the second prize at the European Moncalieri Competition, finalist at the Nomea International Competition
She performed at the Barbican Centre with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra under the conductors Roberto Gonzalez-Monjas and Dominic Wheeler.
She performed as a soloist with the Alchimia Orchestra, with the Lario Symphony Orchestra, in duo at the Milton Court Concert Hall, Lauderdale House.
She attended masterclasses with Marco Rizzi, Stephan Picard, Dzeraldas Bidva.
In 2021 she won the audition for the D’este Symphony Orchestra in Ferrara
Salvatore Tirone began his piano studies at the Conservatory “V. Bellini “under the guidance of M° Alfonsina Campisano.
In December 2016 he obtained a II level degree at the Conservatory “A. Vivaldi” under the guidance of M°Roberto Plano with the highest marks, praise and honorable mention.
In June 2018 he graduated at the Italian Suisse Conservatory under the guidance of M°Alessandro D’Onofrio obtaining a master of arts in Music Pedagogy.
From 2016 to 2020 he attended masterclasses at the Pinerolo Music Academy under the guidance of the masters Enrico Pace and Roberto Plano. He is currently studying with M°Nora Doallo.
He received awards in national and international competitions: First prize at the national competition “Salvatore Gioia”; First prize at the national competition “Benedetto Albanese”;First prize at the national competition “Giuseppe Raciti”;second ex-aequo prize at the International Competition “Camillo Togni”;second prize at the International Competition “F. Mendelssohn “.
The guitar makes the dreams weep,” Francis Poulenc inscribed this verse above the central movement of his Violin Sonata, completed in 1943 during the Nazi occupation of Paris. These words are by the poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, believed to have been assassinated – for his political views or his homosexuality – by nationalist militia in the early days of the Spanish Civil War.
The dedication to Garcia Lorca inspired in us the idea of creating a recital programme to honor the extraordinary poet. The aim is to propose to the public a new experience of listening, not only a profound occasion to admire the beauty of the music but also an experience of cultural enrichment, discovery and union of arts.
The concert becomes a parallel journey through music and words. Every piece is matched with a poem by Garcia Lorca that in our opinion perfectly evoke the atmospheres, nuances, origins and emotions that the composers wanted to convey.
