Joshua Hyde, saxophone
Saxophonist, improviser and composer.
Internationally recognized as a performer of contemporary music, Joshua teaches saxophone and chamber music at the Haute Ecole de Musique (HEM) in Geneva. He is also saxophonist with the Parisian music ensemble soundinitiative and one half of the duo scapegoat with Canadian percussionist Noam Bierstone. A member of Australia’s leading contemporary music ensemble Elision, he has also been invited to play with leading European ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Musikfabrik, Ensemble Nadar and Ensemble Intercontemporain.
A graduate of the CNSMDP in saxophone, chamber music and improvisation, he also obtained his doctorate in composition from the University of Sydney (Australia) in 2021.
Antoine Alerini, piano
An acclaimed chamber musician, pianist Antoine Alerini is a member of the standardmodell trio, featuring saxophonist Joshua Hyde and percussionist Noam Bierstone, as well as the instrumental ensemble C Barré, with whom he recently recorded two discs for the L’empreinte Digitale label.
As a pianist, he has performed as a soloist and with ensembles at the Lucerne Festival, the Radio-France Présences Festival, the Venice Biennale, the It’s all about piano festival in London, the Juilliard School in New York, the Guiseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, the Tempo Reale Institute in Florence, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Pinault Collection in Paris and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Antoine Alerini studied piano with Brigitte Engerer at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP), and chamber music with Claire Désert. He perfected his training at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule in Berlin with Galina Ivansova.
He has also distinguished himself in international competitions, winning 1st prize at the Yamaha Concours des Conservatoires de France and a special Scarlatti prize at the Emil Gilels International Competition.
