Sutton High School is an independent day school for girls aged 3-18 in south-west London, founded in 1884. It is part of the Girls’ Day School Trust, a network of 25 schools and 19,000 students throughout England and Wales. At Sutton High, girls enjoy learning and are successful. Our students are kind, valued for their uniqueness and confident in who they are. They take pride in themselves and celebrate the achievements of others, demonstrating flexibility, energy and enthusiasm. We aim to empower girls to embrace challenge, promote a sense of belonging and foster a love of learning.

Large numbers of students from across the school learn one or more instruments and participate in the many varied extra-curricular musical activities on offer. We run a number of choirs and instrumental ensembles, ranging from flute, clarinet and ukulele groups through to orchestras and a samba band. As well as participating in a busy calendar of concerts throughout the year, many of our girls take part in the annual musical. After leaving school, a number of our students go on to study music at university or at one of the UK’s conservatoires.
