Ursuline Kairson’s musical background spans Broadway, Paris and London’s West End, with leading roles in Two Gentlemen of Verona with the New York Shakespeare Festival, Jesus Christ Superstar, Showboat (a revival), Purlie, Leonard Bernstein’s Mass at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington D.C.
She starred on Broadway in Bubbling Brown Sugar, the show that would bring her to Paris for the first time. Her success in it soon led to engagements at the Parisian cabaret Paradis Latin. It was also there she became a lyricist when asked to write songs for the various shows.
Ursuline has written and performed various shows in Paris, including Ursuline Sings Broadway, From Josephine to Edith Piaf, Songs Of Paris, Galaxie USA-From Broadway to Hollywood, and has created a gospel group and toured with it. Other engagements have taken her as far afield as Hong Kong, Japan, Tunisia, and Thailand. Especially rewarding were her three tours in Africa for the U.S. State Department to promote cultural exchange and understanding.
From Chicago, IL, Ursuline began singing in church at an early age. She has authored and recorded a cd entitled “Out Of The Blue” and recently starred to critical acclaim in the play “Maya, Une Voix” at the Theatre Essaion in Paris. Other engagements include Café Laurent, Le Cercle Suedois, the Mona Bismarck American Center to name a few, as well as numerous private events.
