Voyage musical : Alice Lockwood, soprano and Galina Besner, piano
Sunday April 21, 2024 @ 15h00
Alice Lockwood, soprano, grew up in a musical world, playing piano and singing, and trained at the Grenoble Conservatoire.
As a young adult, she chose cinema as an artistic medium, and took part in the production of recordings of danced, acted and sung performances… Her ear and eye were sharpened by encounters with Ivo Van Hove, Anne Teresa de Keersemaeker, Benjamin Lazare, Emmanuel Daumas, Romeo Castelluci… From one film to the next, her encounters led her to singing. Accompanied since 2019 by Lionel Sarrazin and Gaëlle Mallada, she is gradually finding her voice/path. Passionate about opera, she joins and creates a series of projects, including the duo Les Affluentes with flutist and improviser Claire Marchal, which revisits great opera arias on flute and voice, mixed with improvisation.
In 2023, a pivotal year, she lands the role of Dido, directed by Stéphanie Marco in a more contemporary adaptation of Purcell’s work. Since 2022, she has been a member of Le Cabaret Lyrique, a monthly collective that brings opera arias closer to the street. The originality of these projects, as well as the constant openings she encounters along the way, reinforce Alice’s curiosity and desire: who knows where her voice will take her?
